Tait ready for IPL riches

The cash rich Indian Premier League has attracted cricketers from around the world and Australian pacer Shaun Tait is no exception. As the IPL auction window is set to open the pacer has declared himself available to be a part of the cricket bonanza.
The 25 year old fast bowler had taken a break from international cricket since January citing mental and physical exhaustion. Though Tait hasn’t bowled more than 24 balls for Australia this year, his auction price is touted to be as high as $700 000.
Darren Lehmann, the coach of the Deccan Chargers team thinks that Tait’s uniqueness in his slinging bowling action will increase his demand among various franchisees.
"There are a few franchises interested in Tait. Tait has put himself in the auction so I'm sure someone will pick him up. Dale Steyn went for about $350,000, so I imagine Shaun will be in that bracket," Lehmann was quoted as saying by 'The Herald Sun'.
The Aussie paceman who has also struggled with shoulder, elbow and hamstring injuries along with mental fatigue is considering featuring in selected number of matches to extend his career.
His decision got a supporter in form of former Australian fast bowler Jason Gillispie, who said that Tait should be positive about his career and focus on the shorter formats of the game if that helps him to have a prolonged career.
“Shaun is going to have to decide what he's enjoying. There has been speculation on Shaun putting his energies into one-day and Twenty20 cricket. I don't see that as a bad thing," he was quoted as saying
"If he does go down that path, I just think it might give him clarity and focus without putting too much pressure," Gillespie added.
