Team Kenya on rampage in Kampala

Kenya, scoring at an average of 8.39 runs per over continued their hard hitting antics today when they beat neighbours Tanzania by 98 runs. Collins Obuya led Kenya 185/6 in 20 from the front with an unbeaten 37 off 25 balls with assistance from teenage prodigy Irfan Karim with 37 runs off 37 runs off 29 balls. Much as the Tanzanian bowlers were 'flying', Riziki Kiseto managed figures of 2 for 16 in his two overs.

The Kenyan bowlers then came in some tidy bowling when Ragheb Aga 2 for 10 in 2 overs and Nelson Odhiambo 2/17 in 4 overs with support from Lucas Olouch 1/12 in 4 overs. The Nasibu Mapunda 31 runs off 37 balls could save Tanzania from defeat as they finished on 87/9 in 20 overs losing by 98 runs.

After struggling to beat Botswana, Uganda slept on it and bounced back with 169/5 in 20 overs to beat Nigeria 123/5 in 20 overs by 46 runs at Kyambogo Cricket Oval. The entire top order came to the party with Roger Mukasa 25(24) before he was run out, Arthur Kyobe 39 (33), Lawrence Ssematimba 49 (36) and Frank Nsubuga 33 (18). Nigeria's pick of the bowlers was Oympio Oluseya with 2 for 27 in 3 overs.

Nigeria was able to score 123 runs for a loss of only 5 wickets. Modest figures from Kunle Adegbola 46* runs of 42 balls, Oljide Bejide 38 runs off 37 balls and Ademola Onikoyi 24 runs off 26 balls. Charles Waiswa took 2 wickets for 28 runs while Frank Nsubuga and Davis Karashani took 1 wicket each for 20 and 13 runs respectively.
