Tendulkar, bowlers rested for ODI series
India selectors rested key batsman Sachin Tendulkar from the upcoming One-Day International series against Australia. Also being rested are key bowlers Harbhajan Singh, Zaheer Khan and Pragyan Ojha.
The 14-man squad to be led by Mahendra Singh Dhoni will also not have the services the injured trio of Virender Sehwag, Gautam Gambhir and Ishant Sharma.
"Virender Sehwag, Gautam Gambhir and Ishant Sharma are undergoing treatment for minor injuries, and have therefore not been included. Sachin Tendulkar, Harbhajan Singh, Zaheer Khan and Pragyan Ojha have been rested," said Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) secretary N Srinivasan in a statement.
From the last One-Day International squad, which toured Sri Lanka, the selectors have left out fast bowler Abhimanyu Mithun and wicketkeeper-batsman Dinesh Karthik.
Karnataka seamer R Vinay Kumar and Test reserve opening batsman Murali Vijay have been recalled to the squad. Delhi batsman Shikhar Dhawan is the only new face in the squad.
