The best stats from the U19 CWC

India became the most successful side in Under 19 Cricket World Cup history when they beat Australia by eight wickets at the Bay Oval in Tauranga on Saturday. Prithvi Shaw's side went unbeaten throughout the competition and subsequently picked up India's fourth title.

The side contained plenty of standout performers, with their fast bowling and top-order batting both firing to send them to a deserved victory. But the U19 CWC also contained 15 other sides, with 48 matches in total giving plenty of opportunities for others to make their mark.

Shubman Gill (India)

The Indian batsman won Player of the Tournament for his superb efforts and set a few records along the way too.

India's slow left-arm bowler finished the tournament as the joint-highest wicket-taker, alongside Qais Ahmed of Afghanistan and Canada's Faisal Jamkhandi.

Manjot Kalra (India)

India's opening batsman capped an excellent tournament with an unbeaten match-winning innings in the final against Australia.

Lloyd Pope (Australia)

Australia's leg-spinner grabbed the world's attention in the Super League quarter-finals as he produced a miraculous spell of bowling to help his side bowl out England for 96 in defence of 127.

8/35 – The best bowling figures in U19 CWC history, beating teammate Jason Ralston's 7/15 against Papua New Guinea earlier in the tournament and Jeevan Mendis of Sri Lanka's 7/19 against Zimbabwe in 2002

Hasitha Boyagoda (Sri Lanka)

The 19-year-old right-hander struck two centuries, finishing with 307 from his four innings.

The Kiwi batsman had a productive tournament, scoring 338 runs at an average of 67.60 and a phenomenal strike rate of 119, adding to his impressive overall tally in U19 Cricket World Cups.

**548 –**The fifth-highest total of runs at Under 19 Cricket World Cups, behind Ireland's Eoin Morgan (606), Pakistan's Babar Azam (585), India's Sarfaraz Khan (566) and West Indies' Kraigg Brathwaite (548)

Jade de Klerk (South Africa)

The slow left-arm orthodox bowler took six wickets from his 55 overs bowled at the tournament, but also bowled the most balls from which opposition batsmen failed to score.

**197 –**The most dot balls bowled by any player, ahead of Afghanistan's Mujeeb Zadran (196) and Sri Lanka's Praveen Jayawickrama (190)

Nathan McSweeney & Jason Sangha (Australia)

The two Australian top-order batsmen had solid tournaments, scoring 211 and 229 runs respectively, as they helped their side reach the final.

The hosts started the tournament brightly, winning all three group games before their form nose-dived, with three losses leaving them eighth overall. However, they did write themselves into the record books.
