The squad includes three uncapped players in Sachini Nisansala, Imesha Dulani, Vishmi Rajapaksha.

The young trio were late additions to the residential camp held in September and have stood out with their performances in domestic cricket.

Rajapaksha is a 16-year-old who can bowl pace and is an opening batter. Dulani is a batter and Nisansala a left-arm wrist-spinner.

The squad is a mix of youth and experience. Athapaththu, who has been Sri Lanka's T20I captain, takes over as ODI captain too following the retirement of Shashikala Siriwardena in 2020.
