New Zealand batter Devon Conway will miss the first ODI against India after a training incident involving teammate Matt Henry.

The pair collided while attempting a catch during a fielding session at Eden Park a day before their encounter with the tourists.

Both players were immediately treated by medical staff on-site and received Head Injury Assessments.

Conway was then taken to hospital for further examination which confirmed a concussion, ruling him out of the match.

New Zealand Cricket confirmed the pair will be continued to be monitored, with Henry to this point still in consideration for selection.

The side are already missing Mark Chapman and Rachin Ravindra through injury.
