Sixteen teams, 48 matches, three weeks. With just over a month to go for the ICC U19 Cricket World Cup, the excitement around the global tournament, to be held across seven venues in New Zealand from January 13, is peaking at a great pace.

The U19 CWC Trophy tour, presented by Nissan, commenced in Queenstown on Sunday (December 3) with Grant Elliott, the former New Zealand all-rounder and one of the heroes of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015, as the tour ambassador for the grand events of the day.

"Queenstown is always breathtaking. Very fortunate to be here for the day to do some extreme sports and promote the @ICC and @Nissan #U19CWC in Queenstown," Elliott tweeted in the morning.

The list of activities that were lined up as part of the event included jet boating in Lake Wakatipu, a cable car-ride, a bungy swing from the gondola and a community engagement event at John Davies Oval.

Elliott clearly had an incredible time being part of the activities through the day, and took to social media to share the episode with the fans.

The smile on his face over here might make him look very calm, but in reality, it was a nervous moment for the cricketer as he posed with the trophy hanging 450 metres above the ground!

Queenstown is known for its picturesque landscape, and the exciting events made it an exhilarating experience for Elliott.

Queenstown will host three matches in the tournament - England v Namibia (January 15), Bangladesh v England (January 18) and England v Canada (January 20).
