UAE crushes Uganda in low-scorer

After managing to draw with United Arab Emirates (UAE) and secure its position at the top of the ICC Intercontinental Shield standings, Uganda suffered a shock nine-wicket defeat to the hosts in a 50-over match played at Sharjah Cricket Association Stadium on Monday.
UAE chose to field first, a decision which proved right when it dismissed its opposition for 49 all out in 29.4 overs. Qadar Nawaz picked up figures of 4-16 to wreck the batting order which saw a top score of only 12 runs by Benjamin Musoke. Amjad Jawed and Ahmed Raza picked up two wickets apiece.
In reply, UAE needed only six overs to attain its target with Arfan Haider top-scoring with an unbeaten 29. Opener Mohammad Iqbal was dismissed by Deusdedit Muhumuza for 12 runs.
The two sides will next meet for two twenty-over matches in Abu Dhabi.
