Afghanistan have revealed squads across all three formats for their upcoming fixtures against Bangladesh and Zimbabwe.

Starting October 9, the team will feature in a one-off Test against Bangladesh, followed by an ODI tri-nation series that also features Zimbabwe, a three-match T20I series against the latter and a two-match Test series with the same opposition.

While Rahmat Shah will continue to take charge of the ODI and Test side, Ibrahim Zadran will lead the squad in the three-match T20I series against Zimbabwe.

Among the major changes from their recent outings is the inclusion of uncapped all-rounder Abdullah Tarakhil in the T20I squad. Mohammad Akram, who recently made his T20I debut at the 2026 Asian Games, has earned a call-up to the T20I squad for the series against Zimbabwe.

Meanwhile, middle-order batters Ijaz Ahmadzai and Shahidullah Kamal have been recalled to the 20-overs setup.

The major absentees in the T20I squad include veteran all-rounder Mohammad Nabi and Darwish Rasooli, who has also been left out of the ODI group.

For the three Tests, Rashid Khan and Ibrahim Zadran have been rested, with the pair having been advised against participating in the longer format of the game at this stage, as stated by the Afghanistan Cricket Board.

Returning back to the squad for the longest format is Ismat Alam, who missed out on the one-off Test against India back in June.

Accompanying him in the pace attack, Yamin Ahmadzai has earned a recall in the red-ball squad while Shahidullah Kamal adds to the batting depth after the pair returned with impressive displays in the domestic first-class season.

While Shahidullah accumulated 538 runs at an average of 76.85 and currently leads the scoring charts, Yamin claimed 42 wickets at an average of 12.73 and has occupied the top spot among the bowlers.
