Vanuatu Cricket has continued to spread the development of cricket to all corners of the country, with Development officers recently visiting the non-government organisation, Wan Smol Bag to introduce the game.

Vanuatu Cricket Development Manager Andrew Mansale was extremely impressed by the level of participation and skill on show. ?It?s encouraging to see so many young children enjoy learning about the game of cricket.? said Mansale. ?There are many international opportunities available for players to represent Vanuatu in cricket, and it all starts with them learning the basics in a session like this.? he said. ?These children are the future and we hope that they will all make it down to Kazaa Field and Independence Park during the 2010 Pepsi International Cricket Council (ICC) East Asia-Pacific (EAP) Under 17 Cricket Trophy to support the current players of today?s national under 17 squad in the coming weeks.?

Aside from an opportunity to spread the message of cricket to new youth within Port Vila, the cricket activities also recognise the support that Wan Smol Bag has demonstrated to Vanuatu Cricket by designing the promotional poster for the 2010 Pepsi ICC EAP Under 17 Cricket Trophy.

At the conclusion of the session Vanuatu Cricket General Manager Pierre Chilia made a short presentation to Wan Smol Bag representative Ross Fraser. ?We know that this is only the beginning of bringing Wan Smol Bag and Vanuatu Cricket closer as we work together to promote positive social messages to the youth of Vanuatu along with the game of cricket,? stated Chilia.
