Vanuatu Name Women's Pre-Squad

Vanuatu Cricket has announced a provisional 32 women pre-squad for the Digicel Vanuatu National Senior Women's Team that will be competing in the Pepsi International Cricket Council (ICC) East Asia-Pacific (EAP) Championship to be hosted by Vanuatu between 14-18 May 2012.

The squad are going through fitness on Tuesdays and Thursdays and are encouraged to make every effort to attend all fitness sessions.

They are also going through skill sessions run by the National women's coach, Andrew Mansale.

"The increase in the number of women players in the pre-squad is a testament to the growth of young female players that have graduated from school competitions," said Mansale.

The General Manager of Vanuatu Cricket, Pierre Chilia went on to say "Like last year, we have a busy schedule of international tournaments coming up this year with us hosting the regional Women's Tournament in May, U-16s going to New Caledonia for their Provincial Games in August, the U-17s going to their regional tournament in Fiji in September and then the Senior Men's going to Samoa towards end of September."

Vanuatu Cricket wishes to thank Digicel and ANZ for their continued support of the National Teams and the High Performance Program respectively.
