Vanuatu's national sides prepare for ICC events

Vanuatu's U/19 and senior sides will prepare for major ICC events next month by playing practice matches against each other this week.
The sides will play two 50-over matches on 15th and 22nd August 2009 at Kazaa Field.
This is a great opportunity for the players to get used to playing as a team and also top quality bowlers and batsmen before the teams head off to their respective tournaments next month - the ICC U/19 Cricket World Cup Qualifier and the EAP Trophy.
Bevan Griggs, a current New Zealand A representative, who was part Vanuatu's historic win over Fiji in May 2009 was back in town from 19 - 23 August 2009 to provide valuable coaching to the Digicel Vanuatu U/19 and Senior squads as they put finishing touches to their preparations for their respective tournaments later this year.
"The boys are really looking forward to his return again" said current Vanuatu Captain, Andrew Mansale, who will be also be travelling as a coach with the U-19s to Canada in September.
Bevan will be accompanying the Senior team to Samoa for the ICC EAP Trophy in a coaching/technical director capacity.
