Virat Kohli becomes the second-most successful India captain in Tests
MS Dhoni, with 27 wins from 60 Tests as captain leads this list, and coming into the third England-India Test at Trent Bridge, Kohli was tied with Ganguly, with 21 wins from 37 Tests. Ganguly lead India to 21 wins from 49 Tests, captaining the team between 2000 and 2005. Dhoni retired from Test cricket in 2014, handing over the reigns to Kohli, who has been India's Test captain since January 2015.
A 203-run victory at Trent Bridge took Kohli to No. 2 and he looks to be on his way to surpassing Dhoni's tally, which is just five victories away. This win was also India's first in the five-match series, which England lead 2-1. Two Tests remain – at The Rose Bowl, Southampton from 30 August and The Oval, London from 7 September – and the series is anybody's to take from here on.
