Australian all-rounder, Shane Watson, who has been struggling off late due to injuries will be trained by the legendary Australian fast bowler, Dennis Lillee in order to rejuvenate his international career.

Watson’s physiotherapist, Victor Popov said that Watson is at present nursing the stress fractures in his back – which forced him out of contention from the tour to South Africa- and will be fit enough to bowl during the IPL.

"Lillee has already started working on Watson's bowling action. He'll go to the IPL and play the first couple of games as a batsman. I think he will be ready to bowl competitively in the second week of the IPL," Popov was quoted as saying to the Sunday Telegraph.

"He needs to sort out a little issue with his technique so he'll be working with Dennis and (Australia bowling coach) Troy Cooley,” he added.

Popov, who contributed in preparing a core stability program for Watson, which helped the Aussie finish the Test tour to India without any injury glitches revealed that Lillee had observed a rotational flaw in Watson’s bowling action.

"Dennis Lillee was the guy who identified a minor rotation that he thought could be part of the problem. Dennis and Troy will work on that, just in case it's part of the issue,” said Popov.

The physiotherapist seemed confident about Watson’s quick recovery with both, Troy and Lillee at his assistance. “Troy will do most of the work, but Dennis will be consulted and have his input. Someone with Dennis' history is very valuable for Shane.'' He stated.

Cooley, on the other hand played down any danger to Watson’s bowling career and hoped he will have a big role to play as an Australian all-rounder. "Shane's working hard to bring it all together and I am confident he can have great success as a bowler,” Cooley told the Australian newspaper.
