'We are a champion team' – Brathwaite delighted after series win

Carlos Braithwaite, the winning skipper, was delighted with Windies' batting returns in the T20I games. He laid out a few areas of improvement post the third game, but also said they have "a lot of positives" to take from the series.

"I am very happy. We wanted to be aggressive and we wanted to be positive. In all the three matches, we have batted really well," said Brathwaite after the match. "We made 80 odd in two T20 matches in the Powerplay. So, if we show intent, we can get a very good start more often than not."

Brathwaite heaped praise on Keemo Paul, who returned 5/15 with the ball in the series decider. His effort helped restrict the hosts to 140 all-out in the pursuit of a 191-run target.

"Keemo is a very very talented cricketer, he is probably one of the most skilled cricketers across the world despite his young age," gushed Brathwaite.

"As a bowling unit, we were not happy with the way we bowled in the second match. And we had a serious discussion about it. We have had a lot of positives in this series. We need to win games, we need to win series, we are a champion team."

Shakib Al Hasan, the Bangladesh skipper, remained positive despite the loss, highlighting his team's strong comeback with the ball in the last five overs of the Windies innings. The all-rounder, who scored 103 runs and claimed eight scalps in the three games, was adjudged Player of the Series.

"The way we came back with the ball was terrific," acknowledged Shakib. "I think it was 180 runs wicket. With the bat we were not sure how to go about our business. We had a terrific start but kept losing wickets.

"So many players stood up in this series, Liton [Das] with the bat and Mehidy [Hasan] with the ball. We were good in most areas but we need to improve in a few areas."
