The experienced lot of Anisa Mohammed, Kycia Knight, and Kyshona Knight have made a comeback into the West Indies T20I squad for the home series against Pakistan under the leadership of Stafanie Taylor.

The West Indies side last played international cricket when they toured England in September 2020 where they were handed a clinical 5-0 defeat. With the upcoming ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup Qualifiers, the tour presents both sides an opportunity to hone their skills and test bench strength.

From the 23-member squad that toured England, Kaysia Schultz, Cherry Ann Frazer, Shabika Gajnabi, Sheneta Grimmond, Shemaine Campbelle, Afy Fletcher, and Lee Ann Kirby have been instead considered for the 'A' team that will simultaneously face Pakistan Women's 'A' side.

The lead selector for Women’s cricket in West Indies, Ann Browne-John, said that the T20Is will help the team ease themselves back into the international arena after missing out on action for 19 months.

“This series against Pakistan has come at an opportune time because the West Indies players have not been able to face international opponents since September 2020."

“As we prepare for the upcoming five-match ODI match series, these three T20Is will enable the senior team to ease themselves back into the international arena. The ‘A’ team matches are an excellent chance for some of the younger players who have not been able to find a place in the senior team to show their skills,” added Ann.
