Denesh Ramdin and Darren Bravo put together a record third-wicket partnership to take the West Indies to a 91-run victory in the third One Day International on Monday (August 25), thereby clinching the series 3-0 against Bangladesh.

Ramdin smashed 169 in the 258-run partnership - the highest for any wicket for the West Indies in ODIs - with Bravo (124), to take team to 338 for 7 after choosing to bat first.

Requiring a solid batting effort to compete in the game, Bangladesh rode on a 99-run third-wicket partnership between Tamim Iqbal (55) and captain Mushfiqur Rahim. But eventually, the visitors fell way short, finishing at 247 for 8.

Once off-spinner Sunil Narine removed Tamim in the 22nd over, Rahim (72) held the chase from one end even as wickets kept tumbling at the other. Ravi Rampaul was the pick of the West Indies bowlers with figures of 4 for 29.

Earlier, Ramdin's innings, which was studded with 11 sixes and eight fours off 121 balls, equaled Brian Lara’s record for the third-highest individual innings by a West Indian in an ODI.

Bravo, who was overshadowed by Ramdin’s carnage, eventually came out of his shell to smash eight sixes and seven fours off 127 deliveries before being caught at backward-point of the bowling of Mahmudullah.

Despite the fireworks from Ramdin and Bravo, Al-Amin Hossain, the right-arm medium pacer, impressed with the ball by initially removing Chris Gayle and then bagging the key wicket of Darren Sammy in the 48th over.

He impressed further, when in the final over, he conceded just two runs and removed Ramdin and Jason Holder off consecutive balls to finish with figures of 4 for 49, lifting his tally of wickets in the series to 10.
