Williamson declared fit for first Test against Pakistan
Williamson was unavailable for the final ODI in Dubai due to a minor groin stain. His absence did not prove to be damaging for his side as the match was abandoned due to rain.
The Black Caps will be delighted to have their skipper available, particularly with the difficult challenge that awaits them when they begin the three-match series on Friday.
While New Zealand are ranked fourth in the MRF ICC Test Team Rankings, three places above Pakistan, who are coming off the back of a series victory against Australia.
Mohammad Abbas, who took 17 wickets for Pakistan in the two-match series, will provide a stern challenge for the New Zealand batsmen.
Fortunately, they can call on the services of Williamson, who has 18 Test hundreds to his name.
The first Test begins on Friday in Abu Dhabi.
