Plenty of close contests marked the second day of ICC Women's T20 World Cup Global Qualifier in Nepal.

Thailand, Bangladesh and Netherlands preserved their perfect start to the ICC Women's T20 World Cup 2026 Global Qualifier with crucial victories on Tuesday while USA posted their first win of the tournament on the second matchday in Nepal.

Thailand beat Zimababwe in one of the most thrilling games of the tournament while Netherlands and USA did well to hold their nerve and secure victories.

A game that went right down to the wire.

Thailand moved a step closer to realising their Women's T20 World Cup dreams, staying unbeaten at the Global Qualifiers courtesy of a last-ball run out.

Bowler Phannita Maya was the chief architect, taking on final over responsibilities and producing the match-winning run out when her final ball was hit straight back to her.

Maya was well supported by Thipatcha Putthawong (2/27 off 4 overs) with Zimbabwe finishing their innings a run short.

Earlier, Thailand made 115/7 in their innings off the back of a Nannapat Koncharoenkai half-century (54 off 52 balls).

Bangladesh beat Papua New Guinea by 30 runs to secure their second win at the ICC Women's T20 World Cup Global Qualifier 2026.

Bangladesh also clinched a second straight win, claiming a 30-run win against Papua New Guinea.

Six bowlers took a wicket each as the Tigers produced a successful defence in the field, restricting their opponents to 138/9 off 20 overs.

Similar to their efforts with the ball, Bangladesh relied on several contributions en route to 168/5 batting first. Shorna Akter top-scored with 37 off just 14 deliveries, a strike rate of 264.28.

USA beat Namibia by four wickets

USA opted to field after winning the toss and were at the receiving end of a superb innings from Namibia's Yasmeen Khan, who finished with a 47-ball 74. She was well supported by Merczerly Gorases who scored 28 off 34 deliveries as Namibia posted 144 in their 20 overs.

Khan's knock for Namibia was matched by Ella Claridge for USA, who amassed 70 off 51 deliveries. Ritu Singh added 21 runs off just 10 deliveries to allow USA to chase down the total with four balls to spare.

The victory lifted USA to third in the points table as they recorded their first win of the qualifiers.

Netherlands beat Scotland by 7 runs

Netherlands opted to bat first after winning the toss and were given brisk start by Heather Siegers who scored 18 off 12 deliveries before being dismissed by Kathryn Bryce.

The star of the show with the bat for the Dutch was Sterre Kalis, who fired a 60-ball 87, and with useful support from Babette de Leede and Frederique Overdijk, took Netherlands to 157/6 in their 20 overs.

Scotland lost Darcey Carter early but Katherine Fraser and Bryce got their noses in. Their resistance was broken by Caroline de Lange, who dismissed both set batters to get the Dutch back in the contest.

Sarah Bryce continued the Scottish charge but Silver Siegers sent her packing to put the brakes on Scotland's scoring.

Netherlands eventually closed the game and secured a five-run victory to sit top of Group B.
