Women’s T20 World Cup Global Qualifier spots decided across Europe and Americas regions
USA claim sole Americas spot
Over at the Woodley Cricket Complex in Los Angeles, Sindhu Sriharsha’s side were all-conquering on home soil, brushing aside nearest challengers Canada by margins of 25 runs and 30 runs to end four competition points clear. Seamer Isani Vaghela, a member of USA’s U19 T20 World Cup side earlier in the year, claimed 4/16 (4) Canada on the final day to finish with an equal-tournament high 15 wickets.
With the bat, three American players passed three figures at the tournament, with a pair of fellow U19 T20 World Cup combatants making an impression in the senior ranks.
Only Canadian captain Divya Saxena (174 runs) made more than New Jersey’s Disha Dhingra (158 at 39.50), while California’s Anika Kolan backed Dhingra’s efforts with 146 at 36.50.
Canada finished the tournament in second, with Roberta Moretti Avery’s Brazil beating Argentina twice to finish a clear third.
No shocks as Dutch, Scotland progress
The European Qualifier went largely according to script, with Scotland and the Dutch too strong for the likes of France and Italy, held at the Desert Springs facility in Spain.
Both collecting wins on day one, the two eventual progressing teams faced each other on day two, with a thundering knock from Sterre Kalis (68 from 55 balls) propelling the Dutch to 134/7, a score that proved out of reach with the help of off-spinner Phebe Molkenboer (3/11). The Scots would go on to exact revenge, beating the Dutch by 59 runs in the second meeting, with star Sarah Bryce (49 from 43 balls) leading the way.

With four wins each by the end of the penultimate day, Scotland and The Netherlands' spots were assured before Tuesday play, though the Scots went on to finish the tournament in first place thanks to a better net run rate after the final matchday.
Italy finished in third after victories of 62 runs and nine wickets in their two meetings with fourth-placed France.
