Younis ton headlines Pakistan domination
Younis Khan showed no signs of weakness after recovering from a bout of dengue, as he scored a brilliant century to help Pakistan dominate the opening day of the second Test against West Indies in Abu Dhabi on Friday (October 21).
Younis, 38, hit 127 to help take Pakistan, which won the toss, to 304 for 4 at the close of play.
Younis was finally dismissed caught at deep mid-wicket off Kraigg Brathwaite after five hours at the crease, with fading light prompting the umpires to call off the day’s play six overs before the scheduled close soon after. Misbah-ul-Haq was unbeaten on 90 as Pakistan's batsmen dominated on a batting-friendly pitch.
Younis, who hit ten boundaries and a six, added 175 for the fourth wicket with Misbah and 87 for the third with Asad Shafiq, who made 68, earlier. The century stand between Younis and Misbah was their 15th in 49 innings.

Misbah hit two sixes and four boundaries as he worked in tandem with Younis to build an imposing total.
West Indies was guilty of fielding lapses, with Younis dropped on 83 when Brathwaite failed to hold a catch off his own bowling, and Shai Hope, keeping wickets after Shane Dowrich was ruled out, handed Misbah a life on 54 off Shannon Gabriel, who ended the day with 2 for 43.
It was Younis's 33rd Test century, and it came up when he drove Roston Chase for his eighth boundary.
Younis and Shafiq led the early recovery after Pakistan lost Azhar Ali (zero) and Sami Aslam (six) in the first hour. Shafiq batted well, hitting seven boundaries before playing on to Gabriel. Azhar, who scored a career-best 302 not out in Dubai, played on to Gabriel in the fifth over before Aslam was bowled by Devendra Bishoo attempting a big drive.
Pakistan brought in Younis, Zulfiqar Babar and Rahat Ali in place of Wahab Riaz, Mohammad Amir and Babar Azam, while West Indies was forced to leave out Dowrich and make Hope keep wickets.
