Zimbabwe name squad for India T20Is

The hosts have unveiled a 15-member squad that sees multiple changes from their previous outing against Bangladesh.

Sikandar Raza leads the Zimbabwe T20I side as they gear up for a three-match series against India starting July 23. 

Among the key changes from their last series against Bangladesh, wicket-keeper-batter Tafadzwa Tsiga has earned his maiden T20I call-up.

All-rounder Wessly Madhevere also returns to the setup.

Zimbabwe squad: Sikandar Raza (c), Brian Bennett, Ryan Burl, Tanaka Chivanga, Ben Curran, Brad Evans, Wessly Madhevere, Tadiwanashe Marumani, Wellington Masakadza, Blessing Muzarabani, Dion Myers, Richard Ngarava, Newman Nyamhuri, Milton Shumba, Tafadzwa Tsiga

Meanwhile, pacer Newman Nyamhuri, who is yet to make his T20I debut for Zimbabwe is returning on the back of a niggle that ruled him out of the Bangladesh series.

Tanaka Chivanga, who was drafted in as Nyamhuri's replacement, retains his spot in the side. The three players will feature in the stead of Clive Madande, Tinotenda Maposa and Tashinga Musekiwa.

The two teams had last locked horns at this year's ICC Men's T20 World Cup with India emerging victorious by 72 runs. 

Zimbabwe arrive into the series on the back of a 2-1 series loss against Bangladesh. Meanwhile, India have lost their last two T20I series.

India stay in the hunt for a ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2026 semis spot with a splendid 72-run win over Zimbabwe.

The reigning ICC Men’s T20 World Cup winners lost 2-0 against Ireland followed by a 4-0 hammering at the hands of England. 

The visitors last featured in action on Sunday, July 19, as England clinched a 2-1 ODI series win at Lord’s.
