Zimbabwe v Oman
Vikram Singh, Netherlands batter and Player of the Match:“It is amazing. I've waited a long time for this, so to finally getting a maiden ODI hundred feels unreal.
“We talked about it at the start that it's going to do a little bit in the first 15 overs, so our tactics were to look out for the first 15 overs and then just bat like we normally do.
“For me, it has been about batting long, batting as long as I can out there and then everything takes care of itself.”
Scott Edwards, Netherlands captain:“We had a few good batting innings throughout the game. There was probably a little period through the middle where we struggled. And then I thought the way Wes Vikram, and Saqib at the end, finished it off was unbelievable
On Vikram Singh’shundred: “This tour we spoke to him before and we said, this is one that you can really stand up and get a couple of big scores. Getting his first 100 today is awesome to see,
On the bowlingperformance: “I thought as a unit, we were pretty good. And obviously Kleiny and Aryan Dutt were both sensational, so that was good.”
On their chances ofqualifying: “There's obviously some results that have got to go our way, we’ll watch that game, but we can't do anything about that, so we'll prepare for our next game and find a way to win that.”
Oman captain Aaqib Ilyas: “I will give credit to the batsmen and the way they played in the start. With the overcast conditions and our bowlers bowling really well, they hit the seam right up, but today, the batsmen, they survived the first six overs and after that they batted very well. And then they carried on the momentum. I feel the fielding was too weak for us. We gave a lot of doubles. They pushed us in the fielding.
“We were really confident that if we got a good start, we have to win whatever the target is, we have to chase it. The dugout is always positive, whatever the runs are, it doesn't matter. But unfortunately, they got the wickets in the start and we couldn't give a positive start to the team.”
