Zuiderent announces retirement from international cricket

Dutch batter Bas Zuiderent has announced his retirement from international cricket.

Zuiderent, who has been a valuable member of the Netherlands squad since he first came to the world's attention during the ICC Cricket World Cup 1996, has decided to end his international career.

'I didn't plan to retire when I came back from the World Cup,' said Zuiderent in an interview with Cricket Europe.

'But the time away from the game gave me time to think and created a certain distance, and I found myself increasingly certain that it was time to move on.'
