Global Room to Read goodwill ambassador Shane Watson, who is in Bangladesh as a part of Australia's squad for the ICC World Twenty20, interacted with schoolchildren from Dhaka on Wednesday (March 19).

The children had a host of questions for him, and the all-rounder had some candid answers for them. When he was asked about the bowlers that he found difficult to play against, he said, "Saeed Ajmal – he can turn the ball both ways. Morne Morkel has troubled me quite a lot of times. Mitchell Johnson is fast – I don't like facing him in the nets."

About what he does in his leisure time, true to his Room to Read ambassador role, he said, "I read a lot to keep myself updated and it helps to develop my personality." Watson, in turn, asked the children about their favourite subjects and books.

The session also involved a game based on literary skills, where the children were made to identify and correct spelling errors, where Watson helped and cheered them on.

Watson credited his parents when asked about the support he received when younger to pursue his dream. "My parents always supported me and encouraged me to go after my dream of playing cricket. I always wanted to play for Australia."

At the end of the session, Watson autographed mini bats, which were given as souvenirs to the kids, and posed for pictures with everyone.
