Australia Women made the most out of having their first Women’s T20 World Cup warm-up game washed out, staging an off-the-cuff meet ‘n’ greet for their fans.
A waterlogged outfield put paid to the hosts’ hopes of getting in some valuable time in the middle against West Indies, and the supporters who had made the effort to turn out were seemingly set to be disappointed.
But Meg Lanning’s side ensured the punters didn’t go home empty handed, posing for selfies, signing shirts and miniature bats, and chatting with those, including several youngsters, who had made the trip to the Allan Border Field. From the looks of it, the players enjoyed it just as much as the fans did!
