The Dream11 team pick out the best options for your fantasy team ahead of Australia's clash with Sri Lanka.
ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2020
Venue: WACA Ground, Perth
Date: 24 February 2020
Time: 12:30 pm IST
Australia take on Sri Lanka in the 5th match of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2020. The hosts lost their first game against India and would like to get back to winning ways against the Sri Lankans.
The Asian side also lost their first encounter with the Kiwis beating them quite comfortably. The Aussies look to be favourites to win this match with home advantage and several star performers on their side.
But nothing is ever certain in cricket and Sri Lanka certainly have the ability to spring a surprise on the hosts, especially if they play like they did against England in the warm-up match prior to the World Cup.
There is a chance of thunderstorms in Perth on Monday, so be sure to keep an eye on the forecasts in the lead up to the game.
The WACA pitch is among the quickest in the world, but while the batters may enjoy the extra pace, the bowlers will also be relishing the carry and bounce on offer. On top of that, overcast conditions are likely to turn things further in favour of the bowlers.
Rachael Haynes, Megan Schutt, Alyssa Healy (wk), Meg Lanning (c), Ellyse Perry, Jess Jonassen, Delissa Kimmince, Beth Mooney, Ashleigh Gardner, Molly Strano, Annabel Sutherland
Shashikala Siriwardene, Chamari Athapaththu (c), Udeshika Prabodhani, Nilakshi de Silva, Hasini Perera, Ama Kanchana, Harshitha Madavi, Anushka Sanjeewani (wk), Sugandika Kumari, Achini Kulasuriya, Kavisha Dilhari
Jess Jonassen (8.5 Cr): On a pitch where bowlers could dominate, Jonassen could be very difficult to play against. Her canny slow left-arm bowling could trouble the Sri Lankan batters. She took two wickets against India in the last match and could continue her brilliance in this match.
Alyssa Healy (9.5 Cr): Healy was in great touch in the last match against India as she scored 51 from 35 balls. She was the only member of the Australian top-order to fare well against Indian's bowlers, so it would be wise to watch out for her.
Chamari Athapaththu (10 Cr): She has proven herself time and again to be one of Sri Lanka’s finest players. Against New Zealand in the last match, she scored 41 of just 30 balls and also chipped in with the ball, claiming a wicket.
Ellyse Perry (10 Cr): Perry is the best all-rounder in women’s cricket, borne out by her No.1 position in the MRF Tyres ICC Women's All-Rounder Rankings in both T20Is and ODIs. As a result she is an excellent choice for the captain’s role. She almost always bowls her quota of four overs and can also be a destructive player with the bat in the middle-order.
Chamari Athapaththu (10 Cr): As mentioned above, Athapaththu is certainly one of the best options from Sri Lanka. She can contribute with both the bat and the ball, making her a good option as either captain or vice-captain.
