Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) have announced that Bangladesh will not be touring the country next month, as was previously scheduled.
The sides were due to play a three-match Test series, forming part of the ICC World Test Championship, but the series will now be pushed back to a later date. According to SLC, Bangladesh cited a "lack of preparation for its players, caused by the COVID-19 pandemic" as the reason for the postponement.

The news comes just one day after Bangladesh announced they would not be hosting New Zealand later this year, a tour which was scheduled for after Bangladesh returned from Sri Lanka.
Last time the sides met in Tests was early 2018, when Sri Lanka won the two-match series 1-0 thanks to a 215-run victory in Dhaka in the second Test. On that occasion, Roshen Silva scored a pair of crucial half-centuries before Akila Dhananjaya, on Test debut, and Rangana Herath shared nine wickets in the fourth innings to spin Sri Lanka to a series win.
