LEADERBOARDS

The top performers in the game so far are unsurprisingly the standout players from the First Round. Bangladesh's Shakib Al Hasan (488) sets the pace, with three Sri Lanka players - Wanindu Hasaranga (350), Lahiru Kumara (298) and Maheesh Theekshana (268) - and Scotland's Josh Davey (264) rounding out the top five.

Those leaderboards could quickly change as the Super 12 stage goes on, with some amazing individual performances already being produced every single day. So make sure to keep an eye on it as the scores keep on rising.

MOST POPULAR PLAYERS

All-rounders offer the highest scoring potential in the game, so unsurprisingly there are four all-rounders among the nine most selected players:

  • Shakib Al Hasan - 2nd - 38.83% of teams
  • Glenn Maxwell - 4th - 27.07% of teams
  • Ravi Jadeja - 6th - 21.97% of teams
  • Wanindu Hasaranga - 9th - 18.6% of teams

India opener KL Rahul is the most picked player in the game, selected by a whopping 44.23% of sides, with Bangladesh's Hasan (38.83%) and Pakistan's Babar Azam (29.19%) rounding out the top three.

England's Jason Roy is the only other top-order batter among the 10 most popular players, in 10th with 18.05%.

Jasprit Bumrah (24.65%) is the most popular fast bowler and fifth most popular player overall, with Anrich Nortje (20.47%) seventh and Mohammad Shami (19.61%) eighth.

But some of the most popular players to also make the cut are top-order batters, with those players most likely to get consistent run-scoring opportunities throughout the tournament. Babar Azam and Jason Roy are popular picks, as is India's KL Rahul, who is also one of the most popular captaincy picks.

BEST FIRST ROUND PERFORMERS

The First Round of the T20 World Cup provided an opportunity to pick up some early points, with 12 matches of the tournament played prior to the Super 12 stage.

Some high-scoring players have already exited the tournament, with the top three batters from the First Round – Jatinder Singh, Max O’Dowd and Paul Stirling – all exiting before the Super 12.

But the early signs suggested there are some bargains to be had among the in-form players making it into the Super 12 stage.

Sri Lanka’s Maheesh Theekshana was the top-scoring bowler in the First Round, and is available for just 6.5 credits, with three of his team’s games to be played at Sharjah where conditions should be in his favour.

And David Wiese (8.5) of Namibia is a wildcard all-rounder pick for the Super 12 stage, with his power-hitting down the order likely to be on display again.

But the two stand-out players from the First Round, and two all-rounders that would have been strong picks pre-tournament for any Dream11, are Wanindu Hasaranga and Shakib Al Hasan.

The Bangladesh star was comfortably the top scorer in the First Round, and has shown his pedigree against the best in the past. While Sri Lanka’s Hasaranga is in form with the bat as well as the ball, hitting a quickfire 71 against Ireland.

The pair don’t come cheap, but could still be worth it at 9.5 credits apiece.
