3 – Number of World T20 titles won by Australia

The triumphs came in three back-to-back editions of the competition, as Australia lifted the trophy in 2010, 2012 and 2014. They defeated New Zealand once and England twice in the final of the tournament.

Interestingly, they were led by different players on all three occasions. Alex Blackwell captained Australia to their maiden title, the Southern Stars then defended their trophy successfully under Jodie Fields, before completing a hat-trick of titles with Meg Lanning at the helm in 2014.

Australia made it to the final for the fourth time in the 2016 edition but ended up losing to the Windies at Eden Gardens in Kolkata.

They will be led by Lanning once again in 2018 – they go into the tournament as the No.1 side in the MRF Tyres ICC Women's T20I Team Rankings.
