Alyssa Healy bursts into top 10 after World T20 heroics
The end of the ICC Women's World T20 2018 in the Caribbean has seen a number of changes in the MRF Tyres ICC Women's T20I Player Rankings. While Australia won the tournament, beating England in the final to secure their fourth title in the event, to consolidate their position at the top of the tree, a number of players from different teams also moved up the rankings.
WI v AUS: Player of the Match – Alyssa Healy
The leading run-scorer in the tournament, Alyssa Healy, has moved into the top 10, going up four places to eighth in the rankings. Healy scored 225 runs in five innings at an average of 56.25 and a strike rate of 144.23. Scores of 48, 56*, 53, 46 and 22 showed remarkable consistency across her five innings. Healy – later named the Player of the Tournament – may well have ended up with more runs if she hadn’t missed the chance to bat against India after a collision with Megan Schutt left her concussed.
