Aslam to lead Pakistan in ICC U19 World Cup

The Pakistan Cricket Board today announced the 15-member squad for the ICC Under 19 Cricket World Cup in the United Arab Emirates. The team will be led by opener Sami Aslam, while Saifullah Bangash from Karachi is named as the wicketkeeper. Azam Khan is the head coach.

This year’s tournament will feature 16 teams in four groups. Pakistan has been drawn alongside India, Papua New Guinea and Scotland in Group A. Its opening match is against India on Saturday, February 15 at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.

The second match is on Monday, February 17 against PNG at the ICC Academy in Dubai. The third match is two days later against Scotland at ICC Academy 2.

Pakistan will play three matches against Afghanistan in Lahore as a part of its preparation for the ICC U19 World Cup that is due to begin onFebruary 14.
