Exciting T20 plans lined up in Hong Kong
Hong Kong Cricket Association announced on Friday (July 2) a new T20 competition for the best male and female players in the country.
The Epoch Times Elite (men's) Player Series will be played over a four-week period from Sunday July 18th to August 8th at Kai Tak Cricket Ground. That will be followed by the Women's Series, starting on September 5th.
These competitions will form the basis for the selectors - including new national coach Charlie Burke - to choose a 20-man squad for the next 12 months, as well as a 16-woman national squad for 2010/11.
"With such a busy and important 12 months coming up for Hong Kong Cricket in such important tournaments such as the Asian Games, ICC World Cricket League Division 3 and also the Women's ACC tournament in July, we need to make sure we have the best players training and playing over summer," Burke said
The best 64 Men's players will be divided into four teams, while the best 26 Women's Players will be divided into 2 teams.
