Gus Logie bags interim role as CWI begins hunt for women’s team coach

Logie, who has been involved with the team as an assistant coach since 2017, takes over from Henderson Springer, the former Barbados batsman, who will assist the Cricket West Indies board with their coaching education programs.

"Gus has a long history with West Indies cricket, both as a player and as a coach," Jimmy Adams, the Cricket West Indies director of cricket, was quoted as saying by a press release. "He has been a part of the women's team for the last two years and knows the players' techniques and skillsets. I have no doubt he will continue his hard work in preparing the team for India Women, and then the T20 World Cup next year.

"We are extremely grateful to Hendy for his contribution to the women's program over the last two years and we will continue to exploit his prior experience within coaching education."

Logie will continue to serve in his new role until Cricket West Indies finds the next long-term full-time coach, with the recruitment process set to begin. Logie’s first assignment will be the home series against India next month, featuring three ODIs and five T20Is, starting on 1 November.
