Ireland to tour West Indies for limited-overs series

The three ODIs will be played from 8 to 14 January and will be a part of the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup Super League, while the one-off T20I will take place on 16 January. All matches will be played at Sabina Park in Jamaica.

This will be Ireland men's second tour of the West Indies. They last played in the Caribbean in 2020. West Indies had dominated the ODI leg of the tour, winning the series 3-0 but Ireland had held them to a 1-1 draw in the three-match T20I series.

“We are pleased to be returning to the Caribbean where we have so many great memories," said Richard Holdsworth, High Performance Director of Cricket Ireland. "The World Cup Super League is a crucial set of fixtures for Ireland as we attempt to qualify for the next Cricket World Cup, and – if the series in 2020 is anything to go by - we look forward to a highly competitive series in January."

Ireland are currently fourth on the CWCSL table, while West Indies are on the eighth spot. Both teams will be hoping to improve their record and increase their chances of qualifying for the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup in 2023.

CEO of Cricket West Indies Johnny Grave also expressed his happiness with the news.

"We are looking forward to welcoming Ireland back to the West Indies in January. They last visited the Caribbean in 2020 and we had some exciting encounters, so we can anticipate a competitive series to start the new year."

11 January: 2nd ODI - 9.30 am local time in Jamaica

14 January: 3rd ODI - 9.30 am local time in Jamaica

16 January: Only T20I - 4 pm local time in Jamaica
