Megan Schutt, Poonam Yadav hold on to top-two spots

The top two bowlers in the charts, Australia pacer Megan Schutt and India leg-spinner Poonam Yadav, kept the top-two spots for themselves after excellent returns at the marquee event.

Both of them figured in the top 10 of the list of wicket-takers in the tournament – Schutt, who played a key role in Australia’s title run, ended with 10 wickets – joint at the top with the Windies’ Deandra Dottin and teammate Ashleigh Gardner – and Yadav had eight.

Both of them also made the ICC’s Team of the Tournament, announced after the conclusion of the final.

There was a new No.3, though, with New Zealand off-spinner Leigh Kasperek’s eight wickets in four outings lifting her seven spots to just behind Schutt and Yadav.

The rest of the top 10 also wore a very different look, with England left-arm spinner Sophie Ecclestone (up 12 spots to No.4), Australia pacer Ellyse Perry (up four to No.5), England pacer Anya Shrubsole (up six to No.6), New Zealand leg-spinner Amelia Kerr (up 15 to No.7), and Australia pacer Delissa Kimmince (up 10 to No.8) all making significant gains.

Just below them, Pakistan off-spinner Nida Dar slipped a spot to No.9, followed at No.10 by South Africa pace spearhead Shabnim Ismail and Pakistan left-arm spinner Nashra Sandhu, who both moved up after the World T20 – Ismail by 11 spots and Sandhu by 25.

Among the other bowlers to move up significantly was Sophie Molineux, the Australia left-arm spinner, who moved up 24 positions to take the 12th spot.

Molineux, like Ecclestone, Kerr, Kimmince and Sandhu, also recorded career-high rating points, as did Australia’s star of the final win, Ashleigh Gardner, up 31 spots to No.27 with 537 points.

Other big movers in the top 100 were England stalwart Nat Sciver, who went up 16 places to 38th, Australia youngster Georgia Wareham, up a whopping 74 spots to No.66, and New Zealand’s Jess Watkin, who moved up 90 places to 67th spot.
