Najmul Hossain Shanto takes charge as Bangladesh announce limited-overs squads
Najmul Hossain Shanto will take over as full-time captain till the end of 2024, starting with the limited-overs series against Sri Lanka next month.
Shanto will lead a strong Bangladesh squad in the six limited-overs matches at home against Sri Lanka next month. The squad has been announced for the three T20Is and the first two ODIs of the series.
Shakib Al Hasan continues to recover from the retinal issue that was discovered last month and misses out on the squads.
Tamim Iqbal was one of the biggest omissions in BCB’s central contract list for 2024 and he misses out from the two squads as well.
Shoriful Islam, who received an all-format contract for the year, features in both squads as do a few other players who had a good ICC Men's Cricket World Cup 2023.
Uncapped off-spinner Aliss Al Islam was named in the T20I squad.
