Razak receives official reprimand for breaching the ICC Code of Conduct

Mohamed Shoib Abdul Razak of Singapore has received an official reprimand for breaching the ICC Code of Conduct during his country's match against the United States of America in the Pepsi ICC World Cricket League Division 5 on Wednesday.

Razak pleaded guilty to the charge and accepted the penalty imposed by ICC Match Referee David Jukes without the need to convene a disciplinary hearing.

Razak was found to have breached Section 12 Article 2.1.3 of the ICC Code, which relates to "showing dissent at an umpire's decision".

The charge was brought by the two on-field umpires Tyron Wijewardene of the Emirates International Panel of ICC Umpires and Buddhi Pradham of the ICC Associate and Affiliate International Umpires panel at the conclusion of the match which Singapore won by 99 runs.

"Heat of the moment or not, there is no place for this sort of behaviour in international cricket. Mr. Razak has apologised for his actions and I hope that we will not see a recurrence," said Mr. Jukes.

All Level 1 breaches carry a maximum penalty of an official reprimand at an ICC Development event. For Level 1 breaches of the ICC Code of Conduct the ICC Match Referee's decision is final and binding.
