Roberta Avery wants to see Brazil in the top 20 on Women's T20I Rankings
Brazil are currently ranked at No.28 on the Women's T20I Team Rankings.
"We want to get in the top 20 rankings in T20s in the next five years," said Avery, who has big ambitions for her team. "We need to play more, we need to compete more and now we are taking those steps to achieve it."

Avery revealed that the initial intention of introducing cricket in Brazil was to give their people and children a new sport to play. However, the positive response to the sport has been "much bigger" than the expectation.
"The love and the passion that the Brazilians are sharing with cricket is not what we have expected, it's much bigger," said the Brazil captain. "And we want to make sure that this happy cricket that we play is shared to the whole world."

Women's cricket in Brazil is going from strength to strength and has shown significant growth in recent years. In January 2020, they became the first country in the world to hand professional contracts to their women's team ahead of the men's.
This move from their board helped them win the 100% Cricket Women's Cricket Initiative at the ICC Global Development Awards the same year.
