West Indies announce retainer contracts for 2026-27 season
John Campbell returns to the men’s contracted group, while Matthew Forde, Amir Jangoo and Mandy Mangru earn their first international retainer contracts.
Cricket West Indies (CWI) have announced their international retainer contracts for the 2026-27 season, with 15 men and 15 women receiving senior contracts, alongside three men named on development contracts.
The contracts run from 1 October 2026 to 30 September 2027, with Shai Hope, Roston Chase and Hayley Matthews continuing as the central figures in their respective leadership groups.
Hope remains captain of the ODI and T20I sides, Chase leads the Test team, while Matthews continues as captain of the senior women’s team.
John Campbell earns an international retainer contract for the first time since 2019, following a productive 2025-26 season. The opener registered his maiden Test century with 115 against India in Delhi in October last year and returned to the ODI side after six years, marking the occasion with a 68-ball 101 in Guwahati in September of this year.
Matthew Forde and Amir Jangoo have also received their first international retainer contracts. Forde was West Indies’ leading powerplay wicket-taker across both white-ball formats over the past year, claiming 10 wickets in T20Is and six in ODIs.
Jangoo, meanwhile, made a significant impact in Test cricket with a career-best 233 against Sri Lanka in Antigua in June. His partnership of 401 with Roston Chase set a new world record for the sixth wicket in Tests.
He has continued his run of form in the ongoing second WTC Test against Bangladesh, reaching an unbeaten 111 at the end of Day 1.
Keacy Carty, Roston Chase, Justin Greaves and Jomel Warrican enter the final year of their two-year contracts.
Jewel Andrew, Ackeem Auguste and Vitel Lawes have been awarded development contracts. All three have already represented West Indies, while Auguste and Lawes receive their first international contracts.

In the senior women's group, Mandy Mangru receives her first international retainer contract after being part of the squad that reached the semi-finals of the 2026 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup.
Deandra Dottin and Chinelle Henry enter the final year of their two-year contracts, while the group will prepare for the December ODI series against Pakistan under interim head coach Andre Coley.
The three-match series will be an important opportunity for West Indies to secure automatic qualification for the next ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup.

CWI Director of Cricket Miles Bascombe highlighted the importance of the upcoming assignments in shaping the contracted group’s priorities.
“Every one of these contracts is tied to a job in front of us,” said Bascombe.
“For the men, the first job is the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup Qualifier in February, and we go there with every intention of making it through. For the women, it is the Pakistan ODIs in December, which give us the chance to own automatic qualification for the next ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup. Matthew, Amir and Mandy have earned their places in that work, and John has earned his way back.”
