Zimbabwe hero Malcolm Waller looks back at his side's historic run-chase
On this week's ICC Cricket World radio show, Zimbabwe's Malcolm Waller looks back at Tuesday's ODI in Bulawayo where his side successfully chased down a record 329-run target to win the third and last match of the series with a wicket to spare.
Waller, who scored an unconquered 99 in the match, says: "I just tried to relax and stay calm as much as possible. I knew if you got carried away and not watch the ball, it will not happen. So, I just put all the focus on watching the ball and just decided to play as it came.
"We were really chasing what was a very big total. We got a pretty good start when Brendan (Taylor) set a very good platform and got us going in the right direction. And then Elton (Chigumbura) hit it so well which made it pretty easy for us to stay calm."
Also on the show, ICC's official statistician David Kendix explains how the Reliance ICC T20I team rankings are calculated and also clarifies how the six sides enjoying T20Is status can join the nine Full Members and Affiliate Member Afghanistan on the Championship table.
Kendix, who is the man responsible for the creation and development of the Reliance ICC Rankings, says: "The ICC T20I rankings follow exactly the same broad principles of those that are used for Tests and ODIs that have been in place for several years.
"This means the number of points a team earns for its performance in a Twenty20 International depends on just two factors: the result of the game, whether they win or lose the match; and strength of their opponents."
Looking forward to next month's ICC Women's World Cup Qualifier 2012 in Dhaka, Bangladesh, is Pakistan's captain Sana Mir. The 25-year-old veteran of 44 ODIs and 18 T20Is, says: "We are training really hard for this tournament which is extremely important for women's cricket in Pakistan.
"We have retained the same side which played in the West Indies last month except for one change but the roles may change. For me, I have a team which has 14 stars and anyone can perform on a given day."
Also on the show, rival captains Mahendra Singh Dhoni and Alastair Cook review the five-match ODI series which India won 5-0 while Sri Lanka and Pakistan captains Tillekeratne Dilshan and Misbah-ul-Haq, respectively discuss the facilities at the ICC Global Cricket Academy in Dubai.
Apart from these exclusive interviews, there is the usual round-up of cricketing news and an update of the Reliance ICC Player Rankings.
This show has been put together by the ICC's global broadcast partner, ESPN STAR Sports.
