England's Mark Wood sent for "precautionary scan" on his left foot
The pacer, who has been troubled by ankle injuries throughout his career, aborted his run-up twice before jogging off the field after a single delivery of his fourth over at Southampton on Saturday, 25 May.
While Wood had taken the first wicket to fall in his previous set of six – Australia's captain Aaron Finch chipping one to Moeen Ali at mid-on – he did not return for the remainder of the innings.
15 overs into the day and Australia are 70/1, with Mark Wood removing Aaron Finch for 14.

Worryingly for England, Wood left the field during his fourth over after pulling up in his run-up. David Warner is unbeaten on 33.

"Mark Wood is to have a precautionary scan. England’s medical team want to ensure there is nothing serious in the build-up to the start of the World Cup,” said an ECB statement.
