Apart from the provisional squad for the T20 World Cup 2026, they’ve also announced the unit to take on Sri Lanka next month in three ODIs and as many T20Is.

England Squad (Provisional for ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026)

Harry Brook (C), Rehan Ahmed, Jofra Archer, Tom Banton, Jacob Bethell, Jos Buttler, Sam Curran, Liam Dawson, Ben Duckett, Will Jacks, Jamie Overton, Adil Rashid, Phil Salt, Josh Tongue, Luke Wood

White-ball skipper Brook will lead England for the Sri Lanka tour and the subsequent T20 World Cup.

The skipper, alongside Jos Buttler, Jofra Archer, Sam Curran, Ben Duckett, Will Jacks, Adil Rashid, and Phil Salt retained their place in the provisional squad after appearing in the 2024 edition of the tournament, where England were knocked out in the semi-final by India.

Despite having sustained a left side-straing during the Ashes, England have put their faith in the right-arm speedster. Also in the outfit for the T20 World Cup is Josh Tongue, who has received his maiden T20I call-up.

Brydon Carse is also included in the touring squads for Sri Lanka as England assess their pace options in local conditions.

Will Jacks returns to both the ODI and T20I squads after missing the New Zealand white-ball tour in October, while Zak Crawley makes his return to ODIs for the first time since December 2023, with the opener aiming to add to his eight caps.

Joe Root also features in the 50-over squad, strengthening England’s middle order for the three-match series.
