LIVE: Zimbabwe eye record total against Australia

Australia will look to stay unbeaten at the ICC Men's T20 World Cup when they take on Zimbabwe in Colombo, before Canada and the UAE go head-to-head in an intriguing battle between two sides desperate for their first win at the tournament.

The final match of the day sees USA face off against the Netherlands in Chennai and both teams will be keen to register a victory and keep their chances alive of reaching the next phase of the event.

Australia v Zimbabwe

Australia captain Travis Head won the toss and elected to field in his side's clash against Zimbabwe at the T20 World Cup on Friday.

Zimbabwe took up the challenge head on, motoring to 47/0 in powerplay with Tadiwanashe Marumani (35) and Brian Bennett leading the charge. Even after losing the left-handed Marumani, Zimbabwe kept up the pace, to score 118/1 in 14 overs.

The African team looks well on track to achieve their highest score against Australia in T20Is. Zimbabwe's previous best against Australia was 151/9 in Harare in July 2018.

Australia tried out seven bowlers in the first 10 overs, gauging their options on a flat batting track. Marcus Stoinis provided Australia with the breakthrough, getting a nick off Marumani that was caught behind.
