West Indies face a resurgent Zimbabwe side at ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2026 at the Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai on Monday.

After missing out on the T20 World Cup two years ago, Zimbabwe have responded brilliantly, surging into the Super Eight stage unbeaten. They defeated Australia and tournament co-hosts Sri Lanka to finish atop Group B.

Former champions West Indies also arrive in Mumbai full of confidence, having won four out of four matches so far. While Zimbabwe, who were based in Sri Lanka during the group stage, will be playing at the Wankhede for the first time, Shai Hope's team has played two matches at the venue already, and registered wins over England and Nepal.

Scorecard

West Indies welcomed Zimbabwe to their first T20 World Cup Super Eight with a turbo-charged batting performance.

Though the African side was on equal terms early on, restricting West Indies to 55/2 in powerplay, they couldn't keep a lid on the power-packed batting line-up for too long.

Shimron Hetmyer, who was given two lives, including one when was only on nine, made Zimbabwe pay dearly. He brought up his 50 with a six off captain Sikandar Raza. The 19-ball half-century was the fastest by a West Indian batter in T20 World Cups and the joint fastest of this edition.

A fiery knock of 85, off 34 balls and studded with seven fours and seven sixes, finally ended with Brian Bennett holding on to the catch on the boundary off Graeme Cremer.
