T20 World Cup 2026 semi-finals locked after India's win
The result of the India-West Indies Super 8 contest has confirmed the final at T20 World Cup 2026.
India secured their spot in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 semi-finals with their win over the West Indies in the final Super 8 fixture.
The defending champions knocked out two-time winners to set up a mouth-watering knockouts clash against England, in a repeat of the 2024 semi-final. The two teams will square off in the second semi-final on March 5 in Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium.
Meanwhile, South Africa will go up against New Zealand in the first semi-final on March 4 at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata.
The winners of the two contests will face off in the summit clash on March 8 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
Both the West Indies and India required a win in Sunday’s fixture to progress through. Having been put in to bat first, the Windies put on an all-round batting display to post a total of 195.
In response, India chased down the total with four balls to spare and five wickets in hand.
