Top performers in ICC Fantasy Game for Men's T20 World Cup

With the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 in full swing, major developments have been witnessed on the points table of the ICC Fantasy Game through the first two sets of matches at the event.

From resilient all-round efforts, stellar opening stands, to game-changing bowling spells, this Men’s T20 World Cup has seen it all.

Strong performers from Afghanistan, Australia, Oman and the Netherlands occupy the first five places in our tournament fantasy points table.

Fazalhaq Farooqi's career-best figures secure Afghanistan win

  1. Fazalhaq Farooqi (Afghanistan) - 299 points

Not only is Farooqi the leading wicket-taker at the T20 World Cup so far, the left-armer is also way out in front with the most fantasy points through the first two sets of the event.

Farooqi picked up 179 fantasy points for his five-wicket effort against Uganda in Afghanistan's first match at the tournament and then helped himself to another 120 match points for his four scalps against New Zealand.

Aqib Ilyas with a stunning take

  1. Mehran Khan (Oman) - 257 points

The Oman all-rounder has been in good touch at the T20 World Cup, with his most impressive performance coming in his side's contest against Namibia in Barbados.

Mehran claimed impressive figures of 3/7 in that clash to register a total of 121 match points and has since collected 86 match points against Australia and 50 match points against Scotland to leave his mark on the tournament.

Marcus Stoinis shined with both bat and ball

  1. Marcus Stoinis (Australia) - 247 points

Marcus Stoinis’ perfect all-round act helped Australia overcome early stutters and garner a confident win in their opening group game against Oman. His 67* and 3/19 against the Asian side also helped Stoinis to 176 match points.

An invaluable batting cameo and the wicket of Will Jacks in Australia’s triumph over England, secured a further 71 points for Stoinis, placing him in third place on the fantasy points table at the end of the second set.

Logan van Beek took three wickets for 18 runs in an impressive bowling display for Netherlands against Nepal.

  1. Logan van Beek (Netherlands) - 243 points

From his two games at the event thus far, Logan van Beek has five scalps at an average of just 7.8. A spell of 3/18 against Nepal was instrumental in setting up a confident win for the Netherlands, whereas his 2/21 gave the Dutch a glimmer of hope in their tight low-scoring contest against South Africa.

He also scored crucial lower-order runs in the latter game. With 127 match points from the contest against Nepal and 116 match points against the Proteas, van Beek sits in fourth place on the table with a cumulative 243 match points to his name.

Rahmanullah Gurbaz's spirited 80 leads Afghanistan to second successive win

  1. Rahmanullah Gurbaz (Afghanistan) - 229 points

Rahmanullah Gurbaz, the reliable Afghanistan opener, is placed fifth on the fantasy points table. His half-centuries in Afghanistan’s two contests in the tournament thus far, helped set the base for a winning total.

With 156 runs in two games, Gurbaz has secured 229 match points by the end of the first two sets of the event.

He secured 116 match points against Uganda courtesy a quickfire 76 and a catch, while his 113 fantasy points against New Zealand were secured with a brilliant 80 and two catches with the gloves.
