Australia produced a flawless performance to beat England by 7 wickets and win the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026.
It was also the seventh T20 World Cup success for Perry given she has appeared at every edition of the tournament thus far and the 35-year-old admitted the triumph was just as sweet as any of the previous ones.
“It’s a pretty good feeling,” Perry told the No Balls Podcast.
“I thought the tournament was just run so well; it just felt in a lot of respects like another step forward in the women’s game.”

Ellyse Perry cherishes another ICC Women’s T20 World Cup triumph.
Perry continued her good form from the T20 World Cup when leading the Birmingham Phoenix during England's recent domestic The Hundred competition, with the right-hander once again finishing the event inside the top 10 for leading run-scorers.
It bodes well for Perry as Australia get set to host Bangladesh and New Zealand for white-ball series at home this summer, with the inaugural ICC Champions Trophy event also on the horizon early next year in what is a busy upcoming period for women's cricket.

The next edition of the T20 World Cup isn't too far away either, with Pakistan set to host the 20-over showcase in 2028 for the first time with the event scheduled to feature 12 teams yet again following the recent success with that number of sides in England and Wales.
And Perry has no plans on slowing down any time soon, with the experienced all-rounder suggesting she will continue to play at the top level while she is still at the peak of her powers and enjoying the game.
“I really just love the challenge of trying to get better,” she said.
“I find that really fulfilling, and I guess like cricket is the outlet for me at the moment.
“I guess why I still wake up every day wanting to go to training and want to get better and be challenged in a new way, I can’t really fathom walking away from it.”
