England keep the momentum rolling as they register the second win of their ICC Women's T20 World Cup 2026 campaign by defeating Ireland by 4 wickets.

England management provided an update on the Wednesday afternoon, a day after the host's victory over Ireland.

"Nat Sciver-Brunt suffered a left calf muscle strain, in a similar location to her recent injury, while batting against Ireland Women in the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup group match in Southampton on Tuesday," the statement read.

"Following a scan on Wednesday and further assessment by the England medical team, she will be unavailable for the next two fixtures against Scotland and the West Indies.

"Nat will continue to be monitored and assessed by the England medical team as she undertakes her rehab while remaining in the squad."

Sciver-Brunt had looked in good touch with the bat in the victory at the Hampshire Bowl, moving to 48 with a boundary before retiring herself out with just nine runs left for victory.

The captain walked off the ground with no assistance and described the act of leaving the ground as "precautionary" in the post-match interview, with further evaluations leading to the decision.

Her absence will likely lead in a shuffle in the batting order, with Sophia Dunkley likely coming back into the team at the top of the order. It would likely move Amy Jones to No.3 as others move a spot down.
