A big day of cricketing action awaits in the ICC Women's T20 World Cup 2026 as three back-to-back games take centre stage. 

The day begins at Headingley where Australia face Bangladesh before India and Netherlands lock horns at the same venue. 
The action then shifts to Edgbaston where South Africa and Pakistan look to get their campaigns up and running.

A top bowling performance from Australia as they restrict Bangladesh to to just 77/8 in their 20 overs. 

Kim Garth set the tone with her early burst picking up the two Bangladesh openers. Sophie Molineux then stepped in to remove Sharmin Akhter.

Ellyse Perry's two wickets in a single over completely flatenned the Bangladesh innings as Annabel Sutherland and Georgia Wareham picked up a wicket each.

No respite for Bangladesh 

The Australian bowlers have kept the pressure on Bangladesh and have not let their batters get going. 

Bangladesh are struggling at 49/5 at the end of 15 overs.

Australia dominate the powerplay 

The Australian bowlers have backed the captain's decision to bowl first at Headingley. 

Kim Garth led the charge with a excellent spell that saw her dismiss the openers Dilara Akter and Juairiya Ferdous.

Sophie Molineuax then getting into the act and getting rid of Sharmin Akhter. Just two boundaries conceded in the powerplay.

Injury Updates

Phoebe Litchfield suffered an acute quad injury while batting against South Africa. She is expected to miss Australia’s next three matches. This is a new injury. 

Ashleigh Gardner is also unavailable for selection following an acute ankle inversion injury (sprain).
